bento Box FAQs

How do I use a Bento Box?

The idea behind the Bento concept is fun and balanced eating. The Stuck On You Bento Box Bento Box consists of 5 handy compartments plus space for dip/sauce.

How you use it is up to you. Many say that Bento Box preparation can be a zen-like experience. If you feel like getting creative, here are some cute and fun ideas for impressive Bento fillers

Alternatively, you may prefer to just throw in some of your favourite snacks - and that’s OK too! Here is a list of the kinds of things you can put in your Bento Box. Please note: The food groups written at the bottom of the compartments have been provided as a guide only.

What size is the Bento Box?

  • Approx 228mm x 185mm x 50mm
  • Weight approximately 700 gm
  • Volume approximately 1.08 litres

Is it leak-proof?

We have developed a leak-proof silicone seal inside the lid to keep food separate and fresh. This also means that the contents will not leak between compartments or out of the box.

Can I put liquids inside the Box?

The Bento Box’s leak-proof system is designed to hold thicker liquids such as yoghurts, sauces and dips, however it is not ideal for runnier liquids such as water and other drinks.

Is it food safe?

Yes. The Box is made entirely from food safe materials and is free from BPA and Phthalates.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, you can take the inner tray apart from the outer tray and place it in the dishwasher (top rack only).

It is microwave safe?

No, we do not recommend microwaving any part of your Bento Box.

Is it freezer safe?

We do not recommend putting your Bento Box in the freezer. However, if you want to keep food cool in your Bento, you can use our Cooler Bag and an Ice Brick (see FAQ below for more details).

How do I keep the Bento Box cool during warmer weather?

We have the perfect insulated Cooler Bag which is specially designed to fit your Bento Box. The bag has a carry handle, easy zip openings and a zip pocket suitable for a slim Ice Brick.

What are some other uses for a Bento Box?

Do you have a fussy eater? Why not use the Bento tray as a compartmentalised plate for a bit of home mealtime fun?

Perhaps you have a child who’s a bit nervous about starting preschool, school or kinder for the first time. Ease them into the school lunch routine by allowing them to eat out of their Bento Box before the big day.

What if I just want a plain cheese sandwich

Check out our Sandwich Tray, which also fits nicely with the Bento Box outer case. The main difference between this and the standard Bento tray is that the Sandwich Tray has a larger compartment that will fit a regular-sized sandwich.
